The Authority attended the conference hosted in Bergen, Norway, which focused on the need for critical metals and how the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead can be addressed.

Prime Minister Mark Brown was also in attendance and gave the opening remarks for the conference. The Cook Islands had a dedicated session with presentations by Alex Herman, John Parianos, Rima Browne and Hans Smit.

The 50th Underwater Minerals Conference presented by the International Marine Minerals Society (IMMS) was held in St. Petersburg, FL, USA.

UMC 2022 offers four days of timely, exciting and diverse information on underwater mineral exploration, environmental research and mining. The conference brings together leaders in government, academia and industry from over 25 countries to exchange information about underwater mining.

The conference was attended by Alex Herman and John Parianos.

exploration licences granting ceremony
